I'm not so sure it's a "Swiss organization" as much as an organization based in Switzerland! Just as the World Health Organization is based in Geneva, it's not "Swiss". We have to be careful about national stereotypes.

I'm always amazed that people carp about the cost of a standard. Free doesn't always mean good! Compared to what an organizations might waste, standards are pretty cheap, but rarely do people use :mad: icons to express their frustration about their organizations' waste.

If I needed a copy for work, seems like a reasonable price to pay amortized over an 8 year (or so) period, especially compared to what I pay for ASQ membership each year!:notme:

Correct. Which started in 2007. It also reads

For future editions, the harmonized methodology will facilitate the comparison and consistency of the survey data. The responsiveness of certification bodies to requests for information has increased with the 2008 survey, improving its content. It looks like that, as long as the inaccurate/inconsistent reporting of ISO MSS certificates was showing an increase, no big deal keeping the annual numbers together. Now that it shows a significant drop, let's stop showing the trends.

It is now 12 years since ISO posted the above comment in the 2007 ISO Survey. They should really ask themselves why they could NEVER get accurate numbers, vis a vis the latest numbers in 2018.
