Hi,

For Receiver Blocking test to be performed per EN 301 893/300 328, can the various channels be scanned serially or do they need to be scanned randomly to test receiver's ability to block unwanted signal?
Either of these standards do not specify this. How this to be tested genuinely?

Thanks!

Not my expertise but I’ll chip in in hope that others will join later.

In general, I’d say that if a standard in question doesn’t specify something, it is up to the user (you won’t be deviating either way). FWIW!

Looking at EN 300 328 V2.1.1, the blocking signals and their frequencies are detailed in sections 4.3.1.12 / 4.3.2.12.

The test method in 5.4.11 requires the radio to be tested whilst operating on bottom and top channels unless it is a frequency hopping device where frequency hopping cannot be disabled (in which case it is just tested with normal frequency hopping)

Thank you for chiming in!

For the sake of this test we are suppose to transmit data packets to an access point and monitor this radio link for pass/fail criteria. So we have to select the channel over which we are transmitting these packets. Now my question is, how do we make those channel selection random?

If you have the ability to select channels (and turn off hopping if you are using it) then testing is performed with equipment set to operate on bottom channel and then repeated with equipment operating on top channel

If the device has hopping which can't be disabled, then you just test with it hopping
