Recommendations for joining a professional association and obtaining quality certific

I'm looking for recommendations on which certification or skill set would be most beneficial for my career development as my company grows. I'm at a small (40 employees) pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturer / distributor. I have a BS in Biology/Chemistry, and MBA. I have implemented two GMP quality systems. I currently oversee all regulatory and quality functions, with one other staff member who helps half-time with quality inspections, but we'll be increasing quality staff soon.

I'd like to strengthen my skills in auditing, statistical process control, and general quality and compliance issues. And I'd like to be able to tap into the tools and resources that a professional organization can provide.

Any thoughts?

If you are looking for professional certifications I would then go with the American Society for Quality (ASQ) www.asq.org ASQ has local sections in most major regions/cities in the U.S. and offer the certification you list.

Matt,

It depends where you want to go with your career starting with staying technical or becoming a manager.

But the ASQ could be a good starting point if you live in the USA and especially if you join in with ASQ’s local events and international conferences.
