Hey guys, how do your company ususally control records? the paper ones. There are so many. And I am the only one controlling documents. I need some advise. do you scan them? or just pack them in somewhere? Thank you very much for your sharing.
If you decide to scan the records, be sure to expand the scope of the Control of Records process to include IT. Because Clause 4.2.4 talks about the controls needed for protection, this applies to electronic records as well (not just keeping paper records dry and secured). When this process is part of my audit, I always spend time with IT to talk about back-ups, servers, off-site and redundant hard-drive storage etc. We even run a simulation: We "delete" a record and see if it can be restored through the back-up.
