Well, golly gee, and as others have said, I'm completely unsurprised. <snip>
Excellent advice from Wes among others. Lighten up!

The more you go at people head on, the more resistance you will engender and encounter. There are infinitely more productive ways to achieve a result than command and control.
I guess it would depend - if you have thigh-high high-heeled leather boots, a leather bustier, AND a riding crop or whip, I "suppose" one might "command and control.":mg::mg:

<snip>2. The company has been certified for 17 yo as compared to my old one which was only 6 years - this (i hope) justifies my 'ass-u-ming' they have a more mature and fit QMS.
<snip>3. I am not the only newbie, the COO is also new. We discussed about the whole QMS and we agree it has too many flaws. He sort of gave me the authority to mend the things that needed mending.
<snip>7. I actually wanted to do somthing abt the records register earlier but put it on hold (to clear up the other mess). But the consultant that is helping us with the ISO 14K certification found this as NCR during the internal audit.
<snip>8. The email was a whole powerpoint presentation which I made to make them understand why I wanted the records list (from the history, to what the ISO 9001 required, to how it should be). So I wasn't barging simply. I tried my best to be tactful.
There are so many other ways to try and be tactful. A Powerpoint presentation probably wasn't the best way. A face-to-face meeting with each Manager, individually asking for their input might have been the better choice here.
