Reference Materials

Can remaining part of proficiency testing samples be used as reference material for systematic error (bias) control?
Of course, as long as it is not physically chemically and biologically degraded

External proficiency testing with blind samples are mainly to identify any discrepancies between your results and those of other labs. Do you mean you've already known the properties of the samples after PT? If yes, when they are treated in the same way as the actual samples, any deviations from the expected results may indicate potential systematic errors. But to control systematic errors, I am afraid that many other measures should be implemented.

.Thank you very much SeanN. The PT test (inter-laboratory comparison) compares your result with a reference or assigned value, not another laboratory. It is the responsibility of the PT provider to find the assigned value. That is, when the result score ( for example “Z” score) is given, the PT provider compares your result with an assigned (reference) value. And, we can easily see what the assigned value is from the PT report.
