Registering multiple sites to ISO 9001

We are planning to get one of our sister concerns certified to ISO 9001-2000.This particular company has two manufacturing sites. One of these sites is suffering from poor environment conditions and lack of sufficient manpower.Hence we would like to leave this site out of the ISO9001-2000 certification.
My question is:Is it acceptable to get only one site certified ?

If your "sister site" is not affecting the conformance with your QMS as per 4.1 of ISO 9001:2000 or any permitted exclusion (1.2), your organization could opt for the registration.
According to registration process you can exclude what do not affect the conformance with the standard only in the element 7 of ISO 9001:2000:bigwave:

One can be certified and the other not. The certificate will show which locations are certified.

Just make sure that you do not use marketing materials that implies that all locations of the company carry ISO 9001 certification.

Certified locations should treat materials coming from any of their uncertified locations as they would treat supplies from any other uncertified vendor.

Can I use the uncertified unit as the subcontractor for the "going for certification" unit ?
This is because all our QS9000 cerified customers insist on getting supplies only from ISO9001-2000 certified companies?
