Registrars with AS9100 accreditation approval suspended

Thanks, Al. I didn't realize they would continue to list suspended organizations that way.

Now I have a new question: Is there public information about WHY any particular organization is suspended? How about organizations appealing their suspensions?

I think the most maddening and frustrating thing for would-be employers of Registrars is lack of pertinent information about complaints, suspensions, penalties, probation, etc. for Registrars. It's very difficult to make an "informed decision" when no information is available.

Note I am speaking as a potential consumer of Registrar services. Perhaps Registrars and their employees might like to weigh in on why secrecy is such a good idea.

Emergency landing

As of June 30th, another Registrar had it's AS9100 Accreditation suspended by ANAB. They are the same folks recently suspended by the SCC, in Canada.

I know who one of the suspended registrars are, Mine

I am being forced to switch registrars, and it is not free to do. Im not sure but I think it would be ok to just state who it is.:nopity: :nopity:

Find an OASIS

Last time I checked, there was only one CRB suspended for AS9100. But the ANAB online directory is not working right now. If you want to double check, go to the OASIS database and see who are the approved CRBs.

I can't think of any good reason for it to be secret, other than no registrar wants their dirty laundry to be aired. But if the customers whnt improvement, maybe making it public should be required.

A Registrar can be suspended for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of service provided...it can be administrative or even a change of accreditation body such as from ANAB to UKAS or JAB.

No big secret

So why not disclose the reason up front along with the notice of suspension?

As an ex cop, you should consider it like a "police blotter" column in a small town paper. If the paper only lists names of arrested folks without the crime for which they are charged, then a guy stopped for a broken tail light is lumped in with a serial killer like Jeff Dalmer. Most folks confronted with that minimal evidence will just pass on to the next candidate rather than delve into finding out what the crime was and whether the guy was guilty.

The sad, but true, comment is:
"You don't get a second chance to make a good first impression."

I recall a post some time ago about a CB that was suspended due to financial misunderstandings, or late paying a fee. Had nothing to do with competence.
So, like Randy says... could be any reason. I think it would be better to state the reason to eliminate conjecture, and pontificating.

ANAB claims that the reasons for Registrar suspensions and withdrawals are confidential.

As of March 10th, ANAB suspended (again) the QMS accreditation of a TX based Registrar.

Here's the new link for those who'd like to search the ANAB CB database:
