I do not know if this is the right forum but i would like to seek your help, comments and suggestions on this matter as am not so familiar on how other company do this.

I would like to know who is the person/department that would take responsibility in the network cabling, security camera, door lock access specially if this will form part of the facility.

Currently, the facility management is under Admin. My opinion is that all changes in the facility should be the resposbility of Admin and since they are the ones creating the renovation plan (electrical and communication plan and the likes) they should also take the lead for the data and other devices but with close coordination with the IT and security. However, despite best effort to explain this to the admin manager he doesnt seem to understand. He would always defend that if this is technical this should be under IT. :frust:

Please help. Thank you so much!

Typically, wouldn't IT be at least partially responsible for any network cabling?

Security cameras - what security cameras, where? I think this totally depends upon where the cameras are and what they are for, but again, IT might be the logical choice.

Door lock access - again what sort of access? Access to where? Individual office buildings? Key access? Electronic key cards?

Over all, I think that we need a little more information.

Security cameras inside the office and hallway. Door lock access to offices.

It seems to me that if you have the need for security cameras inside offices you should probably have a security group? But, what your company needs to do is to look at what you do have and make some decisions on who fits best in your organization. It matters little what I would do, what does your management want to do? When you talk about door lock access, what are you saying? Who hands out and collects back keys from new hires and people leaving the organization? Again, who makes sense in your organization? Purchasing? CFO? Security?
