Re: Restarting an old hobby - and Scale Modelers among us?
I too made kits - Airfix cars and planes mainly - when I was (a lot) younger and had time (BK = before kids) I have still to finish three models - a Revell Ford Anglia 'gasser', and two of those fabulous Heller (European) kits, a '70's Honda CB 750 and a Alpine/Renault (that's pronounced 'Alpeen') rally car.
Between my brother and I we share a 'Triang' (the original Hornby competitor and precursor to the modern company) model railway, with items dating back to the (very) early '50's.
Currently, my collection consists of an increasing number of 'Vanguards', which are similar to the Corgi 'toy' models, popular in the UK from the 50's to the 70's. They are far better made and detailed and, although not modelling as you folks practice, they represent a bit a bit of deja vue, from my past!
