We use SharePoint to manage documents.
The revision status of document can be seen in a column in SharePoint, see attached pic.
Technically, all staff should open a template document and enter the data and then save it ensuring only the latest revision of the document is used but rightly or wrongly its usually saved to a location such as a job folder and then has data added and saved and perhaps printed out.
This means that the revision status does not appear in the electronic document outside of SharePoint or hard copy of the document.
I can appreciate that the technical answer as to whether it complies with 4.2.3 c of 9001 may well be 'whatever suits your organisation" but I know there are many good auditors and knowledgeable people on the Cove so I would appreciate their perspectives as to whether or not they would accept this level of control as adequate or would they issue an NC in these circumstances.
