Haven't installed it here at work, but I'll be checking it out at home tonight.

Anyone install it yet?

I downloaded it and installed it. It's OK, and seems a little faster than Firefox, but not fast enough to mean anything to me. I'll stick with FF. One odd thing I noticed is that some page elements seem to render differently with Safari. For example, the attachment shows the same Cove banner in Safari and FF, with Safari on the top.

Someone told me that this browser is the Windows equivalent of the KDE Konqueror browser for linux/unix. Is this true?

I prefer Firefox or Opera, equivalent speed with the added bonus of the addons for firefox, also I just don't like the way Safari looks, no matter what I do the font always seems a bit blurred and the ui of the program just seems very plain...lacks distinction. I'm sure if I toyed around with it more I could get comfortable and personalize it, but I just don't see any reason to.

I'm not terribly impressed.

what impresses my the least has nothing to do with the browser itself but the installer that puts up annoyance messages on machine where I have iTunes and Quicktime but not Safari.

I'll have a look over the weekend, but in the meantime, Who in their right mind would run Safari on Windows?
I'd have to agree with Leander Kahney regarding who in their right mind would use Safari, not just on windows, but anywhere :lmao: I use a Mac and I can't stand that browser. The only thing it is good for is for me to copy and paste certain things into my online classroom message board because it keeps the format (when copy/paste is used from Word or Exel) whereas I can't seem to figure out why FF won't do that. But Safari does NOT load all images and other things are all screwy.

I am using it right now to view and post this.

I just downloaded it on my last update of itunes. It nice in that you get a much wider view of the web pages without the annoying borders on IE. It also seems a lot faster than IE and a bit quicker than FF. I like the instant spell checker on memo fields like this.

I agree though, the resolution seems a bit weak, and I don't like it's rendering of the tool bars as Jim pointed out. I have become accustomed to the IE way of navigation.

It's certainly "sexier", as most Apple things are, but just not sure I am willing to switch from IE, which is configured to my navigation needs! I do however prefer it to FF, mainly because I am used to the interface, it's just iTunes for web browsing.
