I agree--there are many accidents that are caused by using things for tasks other than what they were designed to do. In the OP's scenario, the argument could be made that using the forklift to elevate and hold a "workstation" is actually made more dangerous by having the operator in place, but the danger is avoided completely if you don't use the forklift for that job at all.
