Salary assessment: What am I worth to my company?

I have been a quality Mgr for 6 years. On my current job I am also a Safety Mgr and the EMS rep. I have been here 2 years and want to ask for a raise. I honestly do not know what is resonable to ask for. Accomplishments: successfully passed four QS9000 3rd party audits with no findings. Maintained good quality levels. We spend most of 2005 with 4 new potential customers enduring audits both here and Mexico and gaining their business. I trained and improved the quality of our Mexican subcontractors to the point of rewriting their procedures and WI's. Trained and implemented ISO14001 receiving our certification last month.
We are a tier 2 supplier to automotive.
We have two shifts with 250 employees. I work 50+ hours a week.
I appreciate some experienced opinions.

ASQ has their Annual Salary Survey, but you have to be a member to access it unless someone here has the PDF format. That would be a place to start.

Underpaid

I've been doing ISO 9000 for 6 years never failing an assessment.
Am training coordinator for 2 sites equaling 120 people.
Quality Assurance Manager (ast 3 years) for a 750 million dollar contract covering 5 sites of my company and 16 contractors which we assess/audit to a set of requirements that I helped develop. I do all of the work for the certified and incompetent Lead Auditor assigned to the contract. Additionally, I travel to many companies sites and fix problems, provide training, am a customer liaison, write proposals, have consulted with 2 different customers, and do direct production work. Last year during a 17 week period I was required to work over 300 hours of uncompensated time to ensure that we made some$$.

Midwest
less than 59,000 per year.

Probably more underpaid than you. :(

I wouldn't really say that morgand. This person is located in California which has a very, very, very high cost of living verses Missouri. But maybe if you base the compensation on the Cost of Living then maybe you could be right. Check out this website: http://www.homefair.com/homefair/calc/salcalc.html and take your Salary in Missouri verses California. Just for Giggles, put in your salary and see what it would take to live the same lifestyle in Los Angeles, CA. You will see a big difference. I lived in Savannah and Mexico, Missouri and there is a big difference verses California.

You're getting cheated (have you been kissed yet?). 2 years ago I was making in excess of $70K in Arkansas and I didn't have to mess with the Quality stuff

location, sex, and title: perspective

Been there and done that, I started "work" life as a GIS Analyst doing work on such topics for folks. That is why I clarified where I lived and that I was female. It is also true that your salary will differ by the title you have at work. So, that might affect your salary as well. When I search for similar jobs to mine and that I would be qualified for in this area, many of them start between 100,000 and 125,000. So, I feel pretty validated in saying I’m underpaid.

However, I like the folks I work with, get to travel often and make 7,000 a year more than my mother who has been teaching for over 30 years, has a masters degree, won the state teacher award twice, and has her plus 30 hours. It’s all about perspective.

I make over $60K a year more than my dad did when he the highest enlisted rank one could obtain in the USAF at the time and was responsible for over 2000 enlisted personnel and all that goes with it. Look at your peers, what are they getting?

Do you feel that your compensation equals your contribution and value or do you think the scale is tilted?

What do you actually contribute related to profitability?

What is your profitibility to cost ratio?

This is business, think business.
