Salt spray test on anodic coating B117 vs NES M0140

We typically send samples out annually for a 96hr salt spray test per NES M0140 for a particular customer. We recently received 2 new interior programs that will be in the same vehicle. Both parts are typical type ll anodize with one being black and the other clear. They are calling out B117 test method for the black and NES M0140 for the clear. The customer has not clarified why the 2 specs are called out but I believe it comes down to the designers choice. Anyway, not having a b117 in my hand can someone tell me if the 2 test procedures basically the same?

The well known lab we use said there was no difference between the 2 test procedures. I believe they know what they are talking about but I am one who likes a second opinion.
