Sample for Test R&R - Study on viscosity with a melt flow indexer

Hi,

My factory produce solid colorant for plastic industry. I would like make a R&R study on viscosity with a melt flow indexer.

It is very difficult to take various sample from a same product and various production because we produce products only once.

I have two possibilities:

* split a sample from production into X parts

* take various sample from different similar product and identical tolerence value of viscosity.

Wich is the better solution ?

The R&R is almost like a SPC chart, in order to do it, you have to have a rational sampling, meaning: mimimize variation between trials (within sample) and maximize variation between samples.

I tink that is better to do both:

1. To obtain several trials, if is dificult to obtain diferent subsamples from the same production run, split a sample (minimize within sample).

2. To obtain different samples; take various sample from different similar product and identical tolerence (maximize between samples)
