Sample size definition in an Automotive SMT pilot lot run

Hello, I need some advise on the sample size definition in the coming pilot lot run.
Background is Automotive and SMT manufacturing process, I am SQE and not so familiar with the MSA topic...
Here is the detail, my supplier has 2 components which is not covered in the function test, therefore they want to have this particular components to be checked during the pilot run.

The overall sample they are producing is 4000pcs, and the suggestion from their side is to have the visual check (Imaging from the Mounting machine, the snapshot which machine captured).
Sample size on the soldering joint checking is 68pcs. 0.65 (C=0)
The criteria is out of the spec.
Is it reliable that based on this checking could gating the failure?

Seeking for some advises and any input would be more than welcome.

I work at an SMT capable CM have some limited experience in this compared to others on this forum, but for my understanding can you clarify the following?

Who is the "They" that want to have the parts tested?

The supplier is the SMT CM and they are making the boards for you, correct? If so, what type of component is needing to be tested (BGA, IC, Resistor, ect.)?

Is the mounting machine a pick and place 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) capable machine or is this a simple 2D image from above the part?

If I know these things I might be able to help some with finding a method for testing. I do not believe an SMT mounted part can be validated on mounting at a pick and place machine, as it has not been reflowed to create the solder joints needing checking.
