My thought is an easy calculation would be:

Good 514
Scrap 184
Total 698
Scrap Rate 26.4%

This is how I have the formula now, so there is no debate from on my side, the debate from other departments and KPI reporting is coming from Bev's comment.

perhaps it is whether or not the denominator is only the good parts put in the box or the good parts put in the box and scrapped parts?

Thanks for the responses, y'al are right it is a simple calculation - we also calculate vendor and set up scrap as separate KPIs - but as an overall plant metric we include all. We manufacture bulk PE liners, so whether it is vendor or set up in the plant calculation it is scrapped as a finished product.
