Second Party Internal Auditing - If I go to company to do an audit what do I do?

T

tomjess

I have been trained in internal auditing in the UK, South Africa an in New Zealand.

Doing external auditing is new to me.

I can audit and do it very well, so everyone says. All I am saying is if I go to company to do an audit what do I do? Do I audit them to the manual or audit them to their process?

Thanks

IMO, A quality manual is a nice thing to start with by reading what are the things you have to deal with. Then, ask a copy of their control plan, so that you have a guide on what your gonna ask.
Hope this helps.

Speaking of External Audits are there any checklist questions developed for ISO 9001/2000 or TS 16949/2002? I would like get some to use as a guide for internal and supplier audits.
Has anyone developed one similiar to the QSA in the QS 9000? I am starting a new position in which the company wants ISO 9001/2000 certification and a good Supplier Development System.

There is an excellent Handbook entitled "How To Audit ISO 9001;2000 by Chad Kymal ISBN 0-9713231-1-9

Someone posted a checklist for TS16949:2002 a while back. I hope I'm able to attach the file. If not I'll try and e-mail it to you Mooser.
