Seeking: Examples/Samples - How to document internal auditor qualifications

Does anyone have an example of how they document their internal auditor qualifications? We maintain excellent qualification records for our lead auditors per ASME NQA-1 but I need some help for internal auditors who are not lead auditors. Thanks in advance.

When I trained additional auditors in my organization I created training certificates to be placed in the file. I also created an auditor evaluation sheet that was utilized during observed audits.

We developed a training class for internal auditors. ( One of our trainers went to lead auditor training so he could train the class (as well as do audits)). We record their attendance on an attendance sheet which then gets entered in our training database. Part of the class is a test at the end to see if they got anything out of it. THis is saved as part of their trianing records.

Also, if you are going TS16949, check the customer specifics. We had to comply with Ford which requires:
1. trained and evaluated to the standard (hence the test)
2. related core tools (apqp, etc) we have record of them attending a core tools class
3. Applicable CSR's: (part of class)
4. Automotive process approach to auditing (part of class)
and
5. the equivalent of 1 day of audits. To meet this, they went with two lead auditors through a series of audits. We created a training record and put in each of their files. We made sure they were listed as auditors on the audit reports, also.

When you went to post a reply, there is a section below the "Reply to Thread" called "Additional Options." The second option is "Attach Files." Select the "Manage attachments" button and a window will come up to allow you to browse where the file is. Select the file and then look to see that the file name / path comes up. Then select the "Upload" button. CAUTION: make sure you are attaching a file type that is allowable.

It seems ever more commonplace nowadays for the qualifications to be a part of the HR duties. An Excel sheet is often used to collate the various staff members training, exams, tests, associated dates and reference to the hardcopy file, where physical media are kept. Thus a complete record of the staff member's quals, training etc is available in one place. It is probably increasingly passe for the Q Dept to maintain those particular records and it does make HR feel important.

Should not take more than a few minutes to set up an Excel table. I have even seen the "records", i.e. hard copy, "scanned" and available from the Excel cell by hyperlink to the scanned image.

I have just one question...what is the definition of CSR for you? Here it would be a customer service rep and that doesnt' quite fit.

I meant customer Specific Requirements. On the Internal automotive oversight bureau website, Ford, GM, and DCX has posted Customer Specific Requirements that are to be used with the TS standard. I was referring to those.

There are, of course, other customer requirements. We define and acknowledge those mostly through our APQP process.
