ISO 14001 Procedures

Anybody has a copy of ISO 14001 Procedures to share.

My company is in the mist of implementing ISO 14001.

Thanks in advance.

I would like to write everything into a procedural type or maybe a flow chart type. Eventhough the requirements do not require me to document every processes but without a documented procedures, our people may be confused on what they suppose to do.

That's why i need some sample as a guide.

Thx in advance.

OK, got it. If you use the search capability here on this site and limit yourself to ISO 14001 specific topics you may find quite a few. Pay particular attention to those threads that may have a "paperclip" icon. The "paperclip" means there is an attachment, and many of those are procedures and charts of different types.

If you go to this site you can obtain procedures developed by Ford and Pfizer for their suppliers. They are in MS Word format, so all you need to do is modify them for you operation.

To make sure you have a good solid system you need to realize that there is no "cookie cutter approach". Using pre-existing procedures developed by another is an OK way of identifying a good format and the basic addressing of requirements, but your system is and will be unique. Don't just cut and paste. Define how your organization has to address what 14001 requires and then do it. If you just use what others have done it's not your system, it's theirs.

When asked to help folks out, I let them know up front that I do not write procedures, policies or work instructions. I will provide guidance and review what has been done, offering up suggestions for improvement. If I write everything, it becomes my system and that sense of ownership of/by the users never materializes.

Go for it. If you miss the mark remember the term "continual improvement".
