Friends could any one help me with a good Xbar R chart software or explain me how i can make one in excel? What chart i can use in place of Xbar R chart for process monitoring? How to read X bar R chart?

Here is a file, which has some basics and could be adapted, check the formulas.
There are also a templarte for run chart and control chart in the templates at Microsoft office site.

Hello kapoor,
Attached is a sample chart that I use. In our line of work (electric cable manufacture) the limits are specified so I have plotted them as such. More over the control limits are also specified ( in accordance to the relevant standard, namely BS 6500 and BS 6004) and we have found it very practical to discard the “10% of the nominal value specified” to establish the control limits. The formulae are correct , however one has to
fill in the values accordingly,
the limits,
adjust the scale, etc.
Should you need further help don’t hesitate to contact me.

This is a individuals chart, not a sub-group.

I don't know the standards involved and perhaps you are constrained by them, but this is an individuals chart, not a grouped data (Xbar) chart. It happens to be based on the range.
Is that what you want? You are plotting the min, max, average so perhaps this is what you want, but I believe the poster is looking for an xbar chart.
This Excell file can be made into Xbar by replacing d2 with A2 (0.483 for group of six) and multiplying the average range to get control limits.

I make do without, simply because the cost of the explanations to management necessary here have not exceeded the benefit of adding the R or Sigma chart. Also, I am dealing primarily with counts data using p, c, or u charts and only about 10% of my charting is in x-charts. But that is due to the nature of the data I deal with -- largely safety, conduct of operations, and quality.
