Hello folks,
I am confusing with one question about hosiptial grade plug in CSA standard.
According to Sub-clause 57.2 g) in CSA C22.2 NO 601.1 M90, it need hospital grade plug or plug compling with requirements for hospital grade specifed in C22.2 NO.21 or NO.42. this requirement is applicable even to class II equipment using plug with configuration 1-15 .
There is not such requirement in ul 60601-1 in which hospital grade plug is optional.
In UL 498, standard for attachment plug just requires attachment plug with configuration 5-15,5-20,6-15 and 6-20 to be used as hospital grade plug.
In C22.2 No 20 and C22.2 NO 40, 1-15 plug can be used as hospital grade plug, however, there is no available 1-15 plug on market and common 1-15 plug can not pass test required for hospital grade requirement.
So my equestion is how can an Class II equipment using 1-15 plug comply with CSA C22.2 NO 601.
Anyone's insight is highly appreciated.
