I realize this may seem like a very elementary question, but I'd like to know what folks here think is the best, most accurate phrase to use when referring to the sections of the standard - are they just that (sections), elements, or clauses?
Or does it really matter?

ISO/TC 176/SC 2/N 525R.
In the document body and in the Annexes, clauses are made quite specific.
In the document body, "controlled in accordance with the requirements of clause 4.2.3." (emphasis added)
In annex B the table heading is clause 6.2.2 (e) for example.
