Software Upgrade (Again...) - RC4 - Pls REPORT BUGS HERE

A problem detected...

I see the ads on the left side... and nothing on the right side. The thread follows below the ads, leaving a bagful of empty space on the right hand side. At first glance I didn't even find the thread. See attched picture.

What version of IE are you using?

Marc,
I was surprised and did not know if it was intentional.
I was looking at the Google site and saw the Leaderboard Ad style
I think I saw on some of your pages .
This seems to give the same impact but takes less room on the page as it is only at the top and does not take the whole column.
what do you think?
All the advice I have read says do not put ads at the top leaderboard style. I did that for the rest of the site because it doesn't get much traffic and I would have to makes every page a table to make a columnar ad style.

I had to catch a nap. I'll look at the sidebar closer now. I'm betting Claes has an early version of IE that I think I have a fix for but I want to look at another possible sidebar hack first.

I read somewhere recently that only 20% or so of the PCs running Windows are running XP and the latest IE. I don't remember any evaluation of Windoz 2000 or 98 and IE 6 or anything, but there must be a lot of computers with pre- version 6 IE.

Resetting ALL and Database

I Think there is a 'space' character after every img tag for each karma image - between the end of img tag and the beginning of the 'END TEMPLATE' comment. Try removing that. I am trying to search for it in my view of the admincp but can't find it.
I'm playing with things here, Atul. I reverted all templates and even did a new install as a test. The best I can tell is there is a database issue.

When I upgraded from RC2 to RC3 is when I think the problem occurred. There was a crash on one of the steps. That was the night the database directory filled up - I hadn't realized they had a small partition for databases for some reason on the server. Anyway, I should have 'captured' a screen shot but it was like 5 am or something and I remember I was tired and afraid the database went south - wasn't aware of the partition size issue until several days later.

Anyway, I guess my question is: Is there a tool or easy to compare two MySQL databases? Not for content but for fields and the structure of each field?

I did some tests here and I really think one of the upgrades didn't take.

I've tried everything I can think of other than that to fix the Karma dot spacing issue. I've reverted all templates and even reimported the style. I guess I'll - you never know - try reimporting the language file. I'll let you know if that works, but I doubt it will.

Anyway.

Also - I'll be traveling next week so I'll only be logging in during the early morning and late night. I leave tomorrow (Sunday) about 6 pm.

I would really like to check the current database structure, etc. with that of a fresh install.

BTW - vBulletin's server has been down for over 24 hours now... Rumour is hardware failure.

For smaller databases (no of tables/fields) we can probaly even check manually.

There are 'database comparator' tools availabale, but unfortunately, I've never had the occasion to use any.

Here are some I found for MyQL:

Perl Script: MySQLdiff: https://adamspiers.org/computing/mysqldiff/
