It's bad enough to give the bank your account number and ID before trying to rob it, but this guy's done time previously for bank robbery.:mg:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 34-year-old man is in custody after authorities say he gave a teller his account number and showed her his picture ID before robbing an Anchorage bank.
The FBI says Jarell Paul Arnold of Anchorage is being held on federal bank robbery charges.
The FBI alleges Arnold walked into an Alaska USA Federal Credit Union branch Friday and inquired about the balance on his account. The teller asked for his name, account number and ID.
Authorities say he complied, and then handed over a receipt with a note on the back that said he had a gun and demanded money.
The FBI says he got away with about $600. Authorities arrested Arnold on Monday. A message left after business hours Wednesday with Arnold's public defender, Michael Dieni, was not immediately returned. Court records say Arnold was sentenced to 57 months in prison for bank robbery in 2004.

That reminds me of the story I heard recently where a lady had called the police because her house was broken into and a lot of things were missing. The police came and took the report.

Then she called them back a few days later because her neighbor was selling all of her missing items in a yard sale....

Mental Giants...:bonk:

Chances are, he was trying to be sent back. Institutionalized. I knew a guy who was unable to manage being on his own (this is saying it very kindly - it's a longish and rather entertaining story), so he got himself in toruble again and went back to jail.

Another one today.
A guy walks up to the cashier at a music store with "The Wall" CD and asks the guy to hold it for him. The guy puts his name address and cell phone # on a slip of paper and has the cashier hold it at the register.
The cashier starts to help someone else and robber reaches over and grabs a bunch of $10s & $20s. Doesn't realize he has 4 cameras on him, plus leaving his contact info on the CD and being a regular customer that has left his contact info for rare CDs and Albums!!!!

Epic Fails!!!

BBC News story on that one - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8204938.stm

He was a regular customer as well!

BBC News said:
Police were contacted but the man had left the area.

Mr Knight predicted the case would not take long to crack.
:lmao:
