SOP for Purchasing New Machines

Hi all,

I am looking for a draft SOP or help in writting a SOP for the Purchase of new machines to then sign it off once all compliance checks H&S / Quality so it can do on the production floor and be handed over

Machines do lots of different things, it would be very hard to write one comprehensive SOP to cover everything. What should be done is to compile a list of the critical functions of the machine, determine what level of consistency is needed when it is in use, and write an Acceptance Test Procedure.
This would involve inputs from design, production engineering and the operators of the machine so that they know what top expect when using it. There are probably other people who need an input too, such as Quality and Safety engineers

Apologies, You say 2 different things in the OP.

You say you 2 different things in your query.

An SOP for the "purchase" is vastly different from an SOP/list for "compliance checks" to "handover...". Which do you need or do you really need both? Or just the "handover" part?

The "handover" you refer to is actually "qualification of equipment". This qualification ensures that the equipment will function/operate safely and consistently, as intended. The template is:
  • That the equipment is installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • That the equipment is operated properly, safely and consistently.
  • That the equipment performs within the requirements determined by the facility.
Equipment qualifications have 4 parts: design qualification, installation qualification, operational qualification, and performance qualification.
