can anyone help me what type of statictical tools should be implemented in the service industry. Like , i am working in the Material Testing Laboratories. but i am still in confusion how to start implementing the tools. and from where i should start. More our lab. consists on following sb-labs. ?Following testing facilities are available at Metallurgical Laboratories.

I'm not sure how you want to use SPC in this context. Do you want to track customer's instrument data for them or are you looking at in-house measureables?

I'm going to move this to the Calibration and Test Laboratories forum.

One way you may consider is plotting your measurement uncertainty for each test method. This does two things:

1. It will completely characterize your systems so you know exactly what is going on within your lab, and

2. You will statistically track the actual readings delivered to customers.

Once that is in place, SPC becomes MUCH easier to work with, as the components are already in place.
