We are a 17025 accredited lab and we use CRMs and SRMs to do checks on our OE Spectrometers. On our last audit, the auditor was stating that the certs for these CRMs and SRMs need to have the 17025 logo on them. We get these Reference Standards from various nationally recognized suppliers such as Brammer Standard, Nist, and ARMI. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the need for the 17025 logo on these certs.

hi
we had the same problem on audithing,
since brammer is a well-known company to produce CRMs and also all the information regarding measurement traceability have been mentioned in their certificates,
our technical assessor didn't consider it as a nonconformity.

Welcome to the Cove. :bigwave:

For the uninitiated (like me, before I looked it up) CRM and SRM stand for Certified Reference Material and Standard Reference Material.

There is no such thing as a 17025 logo, per se, but your AB logos can usually be used on calibration certificates. There is no requirement for the logos to be on the certificates as far as I know. So long as the accreditation of the lab can be demonstrated, it shouldn't make any difference. You should ask your auditor where the requirement is.

Don't forget that ISO 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) is about quality management plus competency and many others - nothing to do with a 'product', although it helps. The relevant compliance guide for this kind of specialist is ISO Guide 34.

Of course, many CRM producers are now double accredited to stand out among competition.
