Statistical Data Analysis - How to satisfy ISO 9001 : 2000, Clause 8

Can anyone please advise on how to anaylize statistical data? our company generates a report every month based on their objectives and target and submits it to the QMR. If in cases that they fail to meet the target they prepare a Corrective/Preventive report. But is this enough to satisfy ISO 9001 : 2000, Clause 8, Measurement, analysis and improvement? Will there be any additional method or process to analyze such data? Please help. Thanks

First off, welcome to the Cove, jyngers! :bigwave:

What kind of information is included in this report? And how is it compared to your Objectives and Targets?

Clause 8.4 in ISO 9001:2000 does give you 4 key areas to use data analysis in. Clause 8.4 in ISO 9004:2000 gives you a few more. :D

Hello jyngers, and welcome to the Cove :bigwave: I agree with RCBeyette that we could use a bit more information, but while we wait for that, I'll have to say that it sounds like you're on the right track. (As long as that report leads to action, that is).

We have accumulated the statistical methods we use at Fluor Hanford on the internet at http://www.hanford.gov/safety/vpp/trend.htm. I don't think they have been specifically scrutinized for ISO 9000, but I do not know of anything in there that would be insufficient for ISO. It's worked well for us as a government contractor as far as meeting government requirements, such as the GPRA (Government Performance and Results Act) and the CFR's.

Hi Sorry for replying so late.

We have a lot of departments that have different targets. They were measured based on the performance of the process ex. carpool. how many cars were deployed on time. The department shall review all the records on a monthly basis and summarize it in a progress report. However, on the part of the quality management, what kind of statistical analysis tool will be done considering we have different target and business process.

At this point they just submit it quality management (QM); QM will forward the reports to the management; then file it. There is no statistical analysis done by the QM right?

What have we missed out? please help.
