:D I passed them to one of my current suppliers last week, for some reason they were making up forms for femas and control plans, and if they did not understand it they just left out whole colums, LOL, So I sent yours, or at least the old H-D ones I had handy, until I figure out these new ones useage policy. I might be getting another set this weekend, and I know who made those, but can not share them for others to use. He is stingy, but I am sure on his next rev. he will not care if it is passed out. These new ones are beyound anything out by far. I can only submit PDF PPAPs and not release any sheets. :notme::rolleyes:

Bottom line:
I'm not sure whether they are thieves or just incompetent. However, they sure wouldn't be on my short list for someone to hire!
Yes! I really like your word: thieves. To me, that is what it all boils down to is stealing. Inadvertant, well-meaning events may happen quite often, but stealing is a whole different matter. Even when you don't know the source of something, you state as such, and not make it your own.

Hey guys
I have this issue haunting me, wondering if anyone else from the cove has it.
The issue is called Stealing of your hardwork and recognition none other than your own boss.
I do all the hardwork in innovating new techniques and research, only to be taken by my boss and posing it as his own work:mad:. This is frustrating me to no extent.
Please let me know what you all do for this?
...YOU ARE NOT ALONE… :(

…either your boss… :notme:

OK, I’ve heard one boss (who probably guilty of doing that) saying these:

:sarcasm: “…of course, I’ll have to use my staff’s skills & talents… and it is not stealing!... it is more on managing strategy of talented people… as a manager, I have to know what are the skills & talents of my staff and how they are going to be useful to meet our objective… at the right time…”

“…and if the department met the objective right, who else do you think should be praised & recognized more? the staff (who only posses the skills & talents but nevertheless useless if it is not used properly)? or the boss (who does not really posses that skills & talents and that’s the reason, by the way on the first place, why he hired this staff and used the staff’s skills & talents on the right time and at the right situation)?...”

“…and they are paid to perform on that level… that is why it is technically not stealing… whatever they made is considered company’s property…”

…now let’s keep the ball rolling… :biglaugh:

Sounds like Joshua has a real jerk for a boss. Here's how I see it - it is your intellectual property, not your bosses. You are justifying your paycheck, and this kind of work is used to judge how much of a raise you should get and if/when you can get a promotion. I have employees that regularly come up with good ideas, and I always give them credit, and let them hear me say that to the higher ups. That way, I get lots more good ideas from them, and it works out to the highest good for everyone, especially the company!)

There are ways to deal with a theiving boss:

1. If the product of your work is an Excel or Word document, go into File, Properties, and write your name in the Author's block. Most dimwit bosses don't know about that feature. It has provided me with great joy to be able to prove that a document was of my creation to my thieving bosses boss, and was actually able to prove that a document I created at Company A had been passed around and was now in use at Company B. The Company B boss claimed that he created it, but I knew my own work and could prove it. That was good fun.

2. I had a (literal) genius friend who was working with underwater robots in the oil patch in Norway, and his boss constantly hacked into his computer and stole his work, and presented it as his own. There was no possibility of quitting that job without repatriating to the US, which is a pain, and not desirable especially if you like the company. What the guy finally did was to create work that looked like a great deal/steal, but he put incorrect data in it. Of course, smart guy that he was, he was the only one who could tell. When his boss presented the stolen work in a meeting as his own creation, the guy proceeded to shoot him down big time, embarrassing him in front of his own big wigs and making him look like an idiot. Needless to say, he didn't steal any more documents.

3. Do not complain to upper management that your boss is stealing your work. That just makes you look bad, even if you can prove it. The way I've handled it is to go to my bosses boss when my boss was out of the building, and say, since [name] isn't here right now, I have this great idea that I'm wondering if I should pursue. I present the idea, and it's clear to him who it came from even if my boss steals the idea. They know, even if they don't come out and say.

It was great and I enjoyed it immensely.
Will probably do as you said, edit in the file as an author.
Clever:lol:

...yeah, it is a great idea... but since it is published here, it wouldn't be anymore "great"... :(

...my boss would start now checking & changing the document properties...

…he may also, re-check everything with me before going to presentation… and without inviting me… :bonk:

…and, he may not get out from the office until he is sure that his boss is already off… :frust: and may give us instructions not to go to his boss without asking him first...

…but nevertheless, it is really a great input there… :agree1: thanks pbojsen… and you seems also a very righteous & professional boss… I hope God will produce more of you…
