I might not be here for a day or two, the contract stuff (UAW) has gotten out of hand. The contract expires tonight and we may not be allowed back into the building for a day or 2. Or at least until we can be "escorted" into work.

I've done my own bit of being "escorted" into work and memories of it still make me cold. Hope all works out well (and quickly).

They signed a week extension, but we've missed 3 deliveries so far this week. All the misinformation that is going around is almost funny.
"Management wants to take away all of our medical benefits"
"The Maintenance Director said he was going to run the picket line over with his truck"
"The union wants a $25,000 signing bonus for each employee"
"They want us to take a 20% paycut and give up 2 vacation days"
It goes on and on.
So far the definition for union contract negotiation is - authorization for acting like spoiled children.
