Hello all,
I'm having trouble understanding the meaning of the tolerance in the provided drawing. (I simplified the drawing to show the problem area)
To me, the profile tolerance of the hole makes sense, by itself. What I don't understand is, how the profile can be related to datum A. In all examples of profiles I have found on the internet and in textbooks, the surface profile has been referenced to a datum that is in the same plane as the profile of the surface.
If that is something that is possible to figure out, I'd then like to know how to interpret it so that it can be measured. Is it something as simple as a maximum/minimum possible size to the hole, or is it something more complex than that?
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!
