Surveillance Audit Result - Multiple Audit Nonconformances

Hi cove members!

I have been following post on ISO topics in this site for quite a long time. In fact i have learned a lot about ISO 9001 from this site than the trainings i have attended. This is my first post actually and I hope you would help me.

I just started in a new company recently and was task to handle ISO.The company has at least 100 staff. We are into metal fabrication business. They have undergone a surveillance Audit few days before i joined and it was a mess. I have handled ISO before mostly on documentation but this is the 1st time i have to handle Audit Nonconformances. I have attached the findings and i need guidance on how to reply on this findings. Thank you in advance.

Congratulations on your first post!

Ouch... It looks like there is quite a lot of work to do here.

The NCs mostly indicate a lack of evidence that required activities took place. So the first thing to determine is if the activities actually took place and no documentation was kept to show it, or if the activities did not take place.

The response will include

1) What your research into the processes determined the causes for the shortcomings to be.

2) What your plans are that will correct the shortcomings in the near term.

3) What will occur to ensure the needed activities will be take place - AND records be kept and available as per definition (again, required) in the long term.

It is impossible for me to be more specific than that as responses go, I am sorry.

Your above statement is one of the most satisfying and a Happy to note thing on the cove. Welcome here ~~~
Can you add an other column in the .docx and explain in that your present situation and assessment for all the 7 noted situations as some of them seem major for a Surveillance Audit. Please be as open and clear as possible to have some good and helpful response. Kindly attach the same with your next response.

Thanks for your response guys. I actually just started in this company few days back. I have done some research and I realized that in the previous audits, the auditor comes, eat lunch and leave. The good news is, i have strong support from the new management to put the system back in place. The last audit done February 2 and the auditor require the response before March 12. I joined just this Monday. I have attached some of my brief observations. I just need some tips on how to make a response on these, like what needs to be mentioned and to what extent of information i need to provide the auditor.

Thank you very much somashekar. This is a good lead for me to start with. I would start digging deeper in the next days and would update of what i can come-up with.
