Suspension of ISO 9001 Certificate - Major Nonconformances Identified

It would be good if the OP could tell us about what the auditor found, because the thread title refers to "major nonconformances" (plural) and the bit quoted above ambiguously says "...we have a major findings."

I think it would be pretty unusual for a surveillance audit to result in multiple major NCs such that certification would be suspended, but who knows?

The issue must be catastrophic, or they have had non conformances before and no action has been taken to rectify the issues?

This intrigues me

I think we have to be VERY careful and precise with our comments in a forum such as The Cove. The IATF has very specific requirements for nonconformity management associated with TS 16949 audits, just like the IAQG has very specific requirements for nonconformity management for AS9100 audits. This thread is in the ISO 9001 forum, so, unless I am missing something, this audit is for ISO 9001; thus the IATF and IAQG rules don't apply. So, when you stated you are making an erroneous assertion.
Hi Sidney, thanks for feedback and appreciate your suggestion.:agree:
I had only made a comparison , according some experience of mine, with another type of the standard to respond to the original post of baynoli, where he said that the ISO certification had been suspended for sure and asked for news about this.
However the best way to proceed is to get info how their CB manages this kind of situation.:bigwave:

I believe I stated exactly that in Post #2, just as I stated there would be 100 different answers, of which none would be totally correct...Only the CB has the correct answer for the OP.

I think it is important to remember that, many times, the answer from a CB representative can be wrong and people come here for expert advice as well as second opinions.

The Cove is full of cases whereby a CB representative provides a registrant with information not supported by the accreditation rules. Our answers help the registrants to determine if the CB is being deceitful or not.

This response intrigues me much more than the OP's question. By "deceitful," do you mean on purpose or through ignorance? What, exactly, would the deceit entail?

I would find it difficult to understand a reason ANY CB, no matter how competent or incompetent, telling an auditee the certificate of registration was being suspended if the CB did not, in fact, actually suspend the certificate of registration. This is completely separate from whether the auditee had credible defenses against suspension.

Perhaps this suspension is similar to the suspension of CBs by Accrediting Bodies when the appropriate fees are not paid on time?

de·ceit·ful (d-stfl)
adj.
1. Given to cheating or deceiving.
2. Deliberately misleading; deceptive. See Synonyms at dishonest.
de·ceitful·ly adv.
de·ceitful·ness n.

I think it's most often a case of being misinformed themselves, nothing 'underhand' which deceitful implies...

Deceitful, i.e., you got a major nonconformity, thus you are suspended.

There is NO ACCREDITATION requirement that mandates that.

Right - My point was whether the statement was made "deceitfully" on purpose or through ignorance.

Well k*ap, if one can't ask the CB then where are they supposed to go?

The OP is asking about his specific situation and in all honesty only those directly involved with his specific situation can provide an exact answer to his questions....What if he is using a non-accredited CB, then all those rules being spouted are about as useful as "frass" on a kitchen counter

The OP has an honest concern and solutions being provided are just waltzing him around the mulberry bush.

Just part of the hundred different responses you predicted.
