Technical Support - Medical Device Software Life Cicle

My company have designed a stand-alone software. Now, we are in progress to classify it as a Medical Device Software and I have a doubt about the technical support for customers.

Anyone knows How many time we must support our clients with updates?

Is there any requirement or any standards for clarify this point?

There is no specific requirements re timelines for customer updates.

You will enter into seperate agreements with clients (support contracts), depending on their requirements.

e.g.

updates to software and patches/fixes
system restore
timelines on 'callouts'

etc..


You may feel you need to approach clients with updates, if there is sufficient benifit to your client for the update.

You WILL HAVE to approach your clients for an upgrade/change if you are no longer able to support previous versions of the software...
