Template for the kind of naming convention on my test setup

hi,
Not sure if i am asking the right question but is there a template for the kind of naming convention on my test setup?
example: my setup consists of mainly some optical and coaxial cables, oscilloscopes, power supply...etc...

I'm not sure I understand.

You mention a template. Are you asking about a test setup template (e.g.: equipment list?).

You ask about naming convention(s). Typically on an equipment list one lists the equipment by name, and in some circumstances the description even includes the serial number of the piece of equipment. Of course, some items like cables don't have serial numbers (at least typically), but other than that type of thing most devices, even power supplies, have serial numbers.
