The confusion on patient auxiliary current measurement

dear all,
I have a confusion on mensument of patient auxiliary current decribed in 8.7.4.8 and figure E.4

8.7.4.8 Measurement of the PATIENT AUXILIARY CURRENT
ME EQUIPMENT with an APPLIED PART is tested according to Figure 19, using an appropriate
measuring supply circuit unless the ME EQUIPMENT has only a single PATIENT CONNECTION.
The PATIENT AUXILIARY CURRENT is measured between any single PATIENT CONNECTION and all
other PATIENT CONNECTIONS, either connected directly together or loaded as in NORMAL USE

(see also Annex E).

1# opinion is :
the patient auxiliary current is only applicable and testd between different patient connections within the single apppied part with multipel patient conncections

2# opinion is :
the patient auxiliary current is should be testd between different patient connections with different applied parts ?
i think 1# opinion is right. can anybody help me to clarrify this ? thank you .

Officially #2 is correct, but in practice #1.

Normally the equipment design is such that auxiliary currents between different functions are unlikely. But it is possible. Generally when testing for leakage/auxiliary currents, the tester should understand the design and reduce the test points, otherwise there will be too many tests. If in doubt, can do some spot checks as well, but not comprehensive testing if there is no suspected source of currents.

Peter, thank you for your promp reply .
why does 8.7.4.8 describe an applied part ? in additon , for example ,if differnent applied aparts(BF CF), how to dertermine the auxiliary current limits?

Opinon # 1 is correct, you can check the definition of patient auxiliary current and test setup figure and Annex E in 60601-1. 60601-2-49/80601-2-49 can be a perfect guidance when you handle patient auxiliary leakage current when the equipment is with multiple applied part.
