The Elsmar Cove Coffee Shop

The paper may be larger, but the golf balls are smaller. Plus, the darn cars drive on the wrong side of the street - is there chaos when they drive through the Chunnel to Europe's mainland?
Haha! Wes you've just confirmed every Frenchman's view of Americans! You don't drive through the tunnel!!! - You put your car on a train!!;)

And, we drive on the right (in more ways than one!! Ha, Ha!:mg:

Now, Ben Stein. Who is that? We have no clue! He's a comedian you say? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I know a Rolo is a chocolate covered toffee but what's a rolodex?

A cheap American watch, perhaps? :notme:

A cheap American watch covered in chocolate and toffee!

BTW, just to get it straight, a Rolo is a bit of caramel covered in chocolate.

What Americans tend to call 'English Toffee' (Heath bars for example) isn't toffee at all! It's OK but you should try some 'Thorntons' product to discover the true textural delights of real toffee.

There is a possibility that both Gofar and yourself are correct.

The original Rolos were definitely toffee. This from Wikipedia:

In the UK, they are made at Fawdon in Tyneside by Nestlé Rowntree. They were first made originally in 1938 by Rowntrees in York.[2] Mackintosh toffee was coated with chocolate.

It goes on to say that the current ones are caramel.

The difference between those two substances and between British/American varieties is beyond me so I'll leave that particular fight to AndyN.:)

Still on the subject of food.

Yesterday was my grand-daughter's third birthday and my wife had a day's holiday from work to take the little mite out somewhere for a treat.

Instead of kicking the Lady Tyker out of bed at the normal 06:00 am, I let her have an extra 30 minutes lie in and was rewarded shortly afterwards with breakfast in bed. The complete bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, toast and tea job.

Normally I only get a full breakfast if I'm staying in a hotel and, most days, have to make do with a bowl of Mr Kellogg's finest.

Does any one out there have time for a proper breakfast, these days?

If you count beef jerky and a handfull of peanuts, I do. I used to even wash it down with a Coke, but I gave those up.

Not often during the week. If I'm awake early enough I'll make egg sandwiches for everyone - two fried eggs with cheddar cheese and ham between two slices of bread.

Usually I'm not hungry enough in the morning for a proper breakfast. I'll eat a granola bar at work.

And people think us Southerners talk funny, y'all!

I eat breakfast every day. A bowl of shredded wheat and bran cereal, a glass of good cold moo juice, a slice of Canadian bacon on an English muffin, and chase it down with some fine Columbian dark roast coffee. You could say that I am a global market supporter. These are all things that I keep on hand at work. My first task in the morning is to start my coffee and throw my breakfast together!
