Well, just like Texas... it has turned quite a bit colder here, and the roads are expected to get bad. :mg:

As no one here knows how to drive on bad roads, it will be miserabler around here.

I'll swap you - we've just started a heat wave, with 40C+ temperatures expected for the rest of the week. Far too hot for me.

I have no idea how the tennis players at the Open cope with such heat! The Australian Open Grand Slam is in its second week - which means I stay in the cool and watch the poor things sweat and tough it out... nuts.

I have no idea how the tennis players at the Open cope with such heat! The Australian Open Grand Slam is in its second week - which means I stay in the cool and watch the poor things sweat and tough it out... nuts.

On my recent vacation in Hawaiian Islands, coastal temperatures ranged from a low of 19 degrees Celsius (night) to a high of 23 degrees Celsius. At the top of Mt Kilauea (4,190 feet), it dropped to 14 degrees Celsius (electronic thermometer on rental car) back home in Chicago area it was minus 13 degrees Celsius at 6:00 am this morning (car thermometer.)

(For the math-challenged - I still don't have a conversion factor memorized for temperature, so I have to recompute it each time I work it out - F freeze and boil is 32 and 212; C is 0 (zero) and 100, respectively, then I set up the equation - my wife thought I was nuts, then showed me the button on the dashboard where you can switch from C to F automatically)

Jane, thats almost 105 better than we are in Michigan right now! How about we split the difference? I'd love a 50 degree day here WITH NO MORE SNOW!!!!

Oh, I know. The weather is just horrible. I grabbed a jacket on the way out the door this morning but by the time I got to the car it was obvious that my attire was not going to be approprioate for the conditions today. I was running late and did not have time to run back in the house.

So....

I took off the jacket and threw it on the passenger seat of the car. This fog is just horrible. I hope it gets burned off and heats up to the mid- high- sixties soon.

Craig, this fog bank is huge, all the way from your whereabouts thru NC and most of VA as far as I can tell. High today 67, and it's not supposed to get above 34 tomorrow. good grief!
