Pet Peeve: Micro Managers

If I could change the quality world: I would ask that businesses/corporations make quality their No. 1 priority instead of bottom-line profits. Manage for quality; profits will then fall in line.

I've used this forum off and on, so it's about time I joined it - I guess

1. Graham Kettle
2. Technical Advisor (means quality manager )
3. Rubber products - i.e. tyres
4. They don't like the name being used, but based in Luxembourg
5. in QMS since 1992 here, before that 12 years with the UK MoD's materials quality assurance directorate
6. ... patience with management (Dilbert is so accurate)
7. management wanting the 'paper' but but not willing to change their paradigms
8. After over 25 yrs in quality I don't see anyone changing, but if I could, it would be to forget the paper on the wall and use the discipline QMS brings.

Hi,

1. My name is Kathy.

2. I work for a up and coming company so I wear several hats, Document Control, Procurement, Inventory Control, and recently asked to develop a quality system using ISO.

3. I work for a company the developed and manufactures a machine that uses liquid nitrogen at very high pressures from a portable skid as a cleaning and cutting tool without secondary waste.

6. I graduated from college in business medical. I know nothing (other than first hand about manufacturing or quality, but I am not afraid to ask questions or put in long hours.

7. People telling you what quality ISO and quality expects and they don't know what they are talking about.

2. As same with Kathy my job title is QMR for ISO but i also do other task.I only started this job less than a month!..Before this i work as Sales coordinator in other company and handle only sales dept ISO system.But now i have to control one company ISO system!

Wow! It's amazing how long this post has been going. Just found it so here goes...

1) My name is Jane Ackerman
2) Like many of you, I wear numerous hats. My current title is Quality Supervisor. I am the also the Gage Technician in one of our plants and I'm over both plant's calibrations systems as a whole. I also write all the Hertzler/Gainseeker programs for SPC data collection and crunch all the PPAP and capability data. I could go on, but I won't - you get the idea.
3) I am in the automotive industry - camshafts
4) I work for Asimco Technologies in Grand Haven, MI
5) I have been in Quality for 13 yrs.
6) I believe my diversity sets me apart from others.
7) My pet peeve is lack of personal responsibility.
8) I feel the world of quality would improve if we simply involve more people in the decision making process - if mfg. feels they were a part of the decision, they are so much more likely to buy-in and support it.
