Although being registed since October 2003, this is my second post and thought I should use the opportunity to introduce myself to the cove via this thread, so here goes:-

2. Job Title or explanation of what you do.
Quality Coordinator (Chief cook and bottle wash).

3. Industry you're in or have been in:-
I presently work for a Medical Device Manufacturer (last three years), although most of my working life I have been involved in the Defence Industry and prior to that the Telecommunications Industry.

4. Company you work for and location:-
The company I currently work for is in my profile.

5. Length of time in Quality Function
I have been associated with the Quality Function nearly all of my working life except for a short stint working as an Installation Coordinator on a major defence communications project. It all amounts to many many years.

6.Something personal that set me apart.
Something personal, personal, something. Gosh, I really don't know. I am just your average type human.

7. Pet peeve in Quality.
Like a lot of people in the quality area. If its a quality problem it must be the quality departments responsibility, and Top management that only tolerates having a Quality function 'cause its a requirement. Also those who cannot see the difference Assurance and Control.

8. If you could change the world of Quality, what would you do?
Try and change peoples atittude and perception of what it all really means and where quality practitioners are coming from.

The manager that thinks a quality system is about how good the parts are.

I would change the name to "Business System"

When i had to teach the QA department person how to use Gear testing machine.

I would put people in quality department when ever they say that it is not my job.
