Welcome, ALL:bigwave:
Dave Lindey (you'll find lots of sympathy about "semi-committed" sr. mgrs. here)
Franco Zamuner (good concept on eliminating "us vs.Them" by using BMS)
Mark [quasi_black_belt] - (Grouping folks into categories and then ascribing characteristics to that category always invites a response - often not the one we seek)
David Aaron (You're young yet - some of us have socks older than you - we hope your generation can make a difference!)
Ed Buster (So! You've survived some battles - we hope you'll pass on some insights to the newbies.)
Julie (Are there some short version Personality Profiles available on the internet which are similar to Enneagrams? Perhaps you'll look them up and introduce us to the concept.)
Mai T. (We are ALL still students - we learn from each other)

:topic: Pretty pictures, Marc. Especially from way back in the dark ages!:lmao:

:topic: Yes - it was back in the days that people wrote their letters in Lotus 123 because that's the only software their computer had in many companies! Computers have come a long way! I feel so-o-o-o OLD! Before CE got my boss and me each a Mac and a shared laser printer, we did environmental design criteria test plans in WordStar. Where ever you wanted a graphic you had to put in guessed at space by putting in CRs for blank lines, do the printout, make a graphic to fit the space size, paste the graphic on the correct printout page and run to the copier. Darn - lamenting past times again...

Anyway, same from me - Welcome! Glad you stopped by to introduce yourselves and I'm sure you'll find or get the information you need!

BTW - I'm not into Chatting much myself, but there are a few folks that meet in the Chat Rooms most mornings about 8 to 9 am (GMT -4 hrs).

Thanks!

Hi Marc, thanks for the welcome. Those thumbnails brought back memories of when I was creating source control drawings, item specifications and test procedures at a Bellcore compliant shop I was at for a few years back in the 80s; I also used a Mac at the time.

All - clarifying comment - my statement regarding mechanical Vs. electrical was mostly based on, as picked up on by Marc, the commercial electronics world not military, avionics or Bellcore / Telcordia compliant telco. I have also worked in the past in those niches and agree there are better controls and better intergration of quality principles in them.

One thing which I find to be overall true, however, is that when I ready Quality Engineering or other journals, there are far fewer electirical examples which I can directly apply to my current work than there are mechanical, chemical and other bulk process ones. For what it's worth....

That's one of the reasons I am here - hoping to directly exchange knowledge vis a vis computer systems.

Thanks!

Mark
