Been doing some searches on what to expect at my companies _FIRST_ audit ever. We have been in business since the '70's but have never had to go through an audit until now. Our company _used_ to refurbish and sell supercomputers and large computer systems. Now we are starting to focus on new system builds and storage systems integration. One of our customers creates medical devices and we just jumped to a tier 1 supplier, so we have to go through an audit in less than 2 weeks. I have spent the last month creating workflow documents and really hope I am on the right track.

Even though we are not an ISO certified company (yet) we are being audited on certain ISO 9001:2000 procedures.

I am nervous since my area will be the most heavily scrutinized department.

5. I've been in quality since the later days of Chrysler's old COS progam (before DaimlerChrysler)
6. Humm...how about a Jeep retiree retrofit to TS16949
7. "Rubber-stamp" approval of documents without reading them.
8. If I could change the world of quality, I'd make it fun, you know, something that people would actually WANT to do.

6. at present im working on a quality assurance manual for the company and i still have to draft sop's and optimise the cold chain storage for the warehouse
7. i also have to create a master file /drug list for our products and reorganise the hardcopy filing system for the narcotics(yet to figuire out)
8. oh this is my second mth at the company so u can tell im a little nervous and dis organised

Well..... here it goes! :bigwave:

1. My name is Doug Smith.
2. Quality Coordinator over product quality and system quality.
3. Currently in carbon fiber products, previosly in automotive and aerospace manufacturing.
4. Wolfden Products in Plain City, OH (soon to be in Hilliard, OH) near Columbus.
5. 12 years starting as a quality tech, then quality engineer, quality supervisor and now quality coordinator.
6. Sp;ent 7 years in the Army as an analyst in military intelligence (oxymoron?).
7. My pet peeve in quality is management's view of quality as an after thought.
8. Bring the focus of quality to every department not just production.

I have an associate degree in quality and a bachelor degree in tech management. :thanx:
