Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute and Introduce Yourself / Say Hello!

Hellooo! I'm really new here.
1. Call me stryker which I got when I graduated from Aeronautical Engineering
2. Presently the Safety Officer, Waste Management Officer and Head of the Engineering and Maintenance Department of a Healthcare/ Educational Institution for the past 2 years (multi-tasking huh!).
3. 100-bed capacity tertiary hospital and college.
4. BHCI, Zamboanga, Philippines. Hey anyone from the Philippines?

I guess I did introduce myself pretty well. I'm reading all this stuff about Quality which is really new to my ears. I previously worked for different construction firms since I am also a graduate of Civil Engineering. Pretty nice stuff you have here and I'm thankful to find this site. I am also planning to venture into the HSE Job and maybe Randy could help me on it or all of you guys.

Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute and Introduce Yourself / Say Hello!

1. Me: Deborah Hemstreet
2. Job title: Technical Communication Consultant/Specialist
3. Background: Medical Devices and Manufacturing
4. Where do I work? Free Lance for a Johnson & Johnson Company/Contractor for Kaydon Bearings, Muskegon, MI
5. Time in Function: All of my writing has been integrelly involved with QA, to meet US and EU requirements - 10+ years
6. Something that sets me apart: I am not a QA Specialist, rather a writer who works with QA and helps turn requirements into written instructions that are easy to follow (no small task!)
7. Pet Peeve: Inconsistencies between the standards and implementation, poor follow-through
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do?
I would see that quality specialists have more training in writing, and following through a process before THEY implement it, to make sure it can really be done
9. Education: BA in Special Education; MA in Techncical Communication

New Folks... Introduce Yourself

Hello Friends,

My name is Jason and I've selfishly gleaned from this site for some time now without contributing... even as much as an introduction. So, I'm changing that today and I've made it a goal to contribute more going forward. And yes, I have a specific measureable (ratio for you real zealots:biglaugh:) goal in mind. But I lack the discipline and the strategy / systems alignment necessary to support and realize the goal... wait that's a topic for another forum. :whip:

I started my career in the Quality Assurance Department of a Japanese automotive wire harness manufacturer in 1991. Most recently I finished a two year stint with a mortgage company in a business improvement and organization development capacity. I am now trying to make a success of my consulting company.

I have a nice mix of quality, training, and operations experience across several industries and so now I think I know everything. Additionally, I have a BS in Management and I am pursuing (currently on hold) a Master's in Organizational Leadership. I like to believe that one day I will uncover a new paradigm about organizations and quality that brings us closer to the truth... but in the mean time ISO, TS, etc. will have to do. :lmao:

I've truly enjoyed the site and am indebted to its contributors, esp. the likes of Wes Busey, RCBeyette, SteelMaien, Helmut Jilling... the list goes on. Thank you all for your faithfulness to the site and your valuable contributions that have helped me so much.

Have a great day and I'll see you around at the Cove!
