8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? Rotate each supervisor and above through the quality department. Get them to understand that it is not that difficult and it won’t kill them to practice it.

Hello Folks!

Let me join to the Cove. I will let the personal data to the end. I'm a "new" in quality. I've started my Q related job in 2003. I was working for a petrol pipe system company, after I was at a heating equipment firm, and now since January 2008 I'm with a plastic company.
Taht's my first Q Manager job. So I will have lot of stupid question. Forgive me for that, but I have to learn a lot to become as wise as you are.
As I mentioned I'm at a plastic company making high precision plastic parts for electric, metric, and automotive companies.
You can guess which one is my favourite :)
Now we are preparing for getting the certification of TS16949 and ISO14001.
All "technical" parameters you can see below. I hope I can have a good time here in the Cove, and in the meantime, just as a subsidiary activity I do my job here:)

7.Your pet peeve in quality: Most of people thinks quality is measuring the parts, and decide beetween acceptable and non-acceptable. They never heard about process improvement and building Q into the manufacturing process.
Q is just a cost without benefits. So Quality is a necessary bad thing.
8.If you could change the world of quality what would you do?: Change people thinking. Build basic quality to the subjects of secondary schools.

I am a little new to QA but not new to the issues of quality in clinical research
Obviously my area is Clinical Research Trials
My background is all medical and about 15 years ago I made the transition to research
My goals are to learn the formal "language" and methods of QA.
So, I am here mostly to look and learn

Welcome! Better late than never! No requirement to be Quality, as there is quite a bit in "Engineering" that overlaps, I should think. Also, there is so much here that isn't technically Quality, either.
