5. I've been in quality since 1985. Ouch - that's a little scary
6. I love to play golf whenever I can even though I'm awful - which shows I'm either amazingly resilient or stupid

8. George Carlin (may he RIP) said, "wouldn't it be great if, just by looking at someone, you could make their head explode?" Appropriate action for unenlightened managers who just DON'T or WON'T get it.

5. Longevity - Well, 38+ years in this quality game
6. Something Personal - All things considered, I pride myself in being able to develop very good customer relations. Not totally unique among us quality cats, but very valuable to my personal integrity and that of my company.
7. Pet peeve - So many people I have worked with in the past don't understand or appreciate the meaning of the word "Commitment". They will let their commitments come and go without even an email or phone call. It's rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I don't tolerate it.
8. How I would change the Quality World - I would see to it that the ISO or AS standard, under resources required a program of mentoring for young QEs or QA management hopefulls.

Introduction

I'm new here, so I'm going to introduce myself
My name is Jackie, and I work in the product development department for a pharmaceutical company (OTC division), where my title is Senior Development Scientist. My background is analytical chemistry, but I haven't done much lab work in the past couple of years. Currently, most of my time is spent on documentation, and leading projects.
Our company manufactures OTC pharmaceuticals, nutritional products, and medical devices. I'm new to the device area, and joined this forum to see if I can get some information on design controls, as I have to write a new SOP on design controls.
