6. Asking without hesitation and learning something new
7. Lack of sincere support for Quality Systems from other departments and Quality being regarded as a pain in the neck. :(
8. Would like to make it compulsory that top people in other departments have to work in Quality Department for a period to understand what it actually is all about :mad:

2. Job Title or explanation of what you do - Quality Manager
3. Industry you're in or have been in - Aerospace aluminium castings
4. Company you work for and location - Aeromet Int PLC, Worcester - England. An American owned company based in the UK
5. Length of time in quality function - 5 years in "Quality" 5 years technical... The " " is for the fact I feel ALL roles are involved in Quality
6. Something personal that sets you apart - I had England Youth rugby trials
7. Your pet peeve in quality - Audits.... I get audited by customers, NADCAP, LRQA and they ALL look at the same things and yet each one asks for the other.... somebody decide what standards you require and give me 1 audit!!!
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? - ONE STANDARD AUDIT!!! Find a company that everybody trusts and create 1 big audit per year.... I wouldn't mind if the audit took a month (currently I have 58 audit days booked for my site in 2009)

2. Job Title or explanation of what you do - Head of Functional Safety
3. Industry you're in or have been in - Automotive (powertrain ECU SW/HW)
4. Company you work for and location - Delphi UK
5. Length of time in quality function - Never directly, although in previous roles I've prepared process documentation for various quality standards. (20yrs in embedded SW)
6. Something personal that sets you apart - Keep it as simple as possible so all who are required to understand can do so.
7. Your pet peeve in quality – The sometimes apparent tokenism given to quality.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? - Increase the involvement and opportunity for teams/people to make process improvements.

3. Industry you're in or have been in - You name it...currently working with Defence Contractors in Space/Aerospace/Other, previous experience in Healthcare (don't get me started), CPG, general industry.
4. Company you work for and location - ecg, Newport Beach CA
5. Length of time in quality function - 10 years blended with 25 years of OA
6. Something personal that sets you apart - New Dadx2 @ 46...two boys that allow me to rediscover how big the world is and how much magic there still is...that is until I get into an Executive meeting with people who think Quality is a certification.
7. Your pet peeve in quality – The focus on Quality as something seperate vs. an essential, integral...right way to be and do...everything.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? - Marketing, spinning and work on eliminating the line between what is Quality and what is "the way we work together"
