Here's another newbie...

I'm new to the forum as of today... I just stumbled across this site in a search for information related to process mapping

1. My name is Patricia Lentz

2. I am Quality Manager/QMR

3. Right now I am employed in short run stampings/prototyping/laser cutting and forming. In the past I have been in vacuum tubes (way back in the dark ages), cold heading and forming, the automotive powder metal industry, and have dipped a toe in the hand tools and plating industries.

4. I work for Proshort Stampings Services in Falls Creek, PA

5. I have been in positions in quality functions for the last... ummm.. 30 plus years... holy cow... now I feel like Methusela... I'll be thinking about that for the rest of the day....

6. Something that sets me apart... how about my sunny disposition? :D

7. My pet peeve... everyone wants to shortcut and not take the time to dot the I's and cross the T's

8. What would I change? Just that everyone would be more aware of what they are doing and how it affects the overall picture instead of just showing up and going through the motions...

Did I look at this picture right? Do you work standing up?
My, what sharp little eyes you have... biggrin-a1.gif Yes, you're right, I do, and it does my back and neck a world of good. I do lower the table and sit down when I have visitors, but apart from that I'm usually on my feet (Not to mention that my coworkers often have me on my toes lol.gif ).

We learn more and more about you, Claes. I think the "stand up" routine should extend to meetings as well - certainly would keep participants "on their toes.":lmao:

Claes,

Just got the picture of your office. First off, you are a lot like me in the neatness category. It helps keep people on their toes, dont you think? :horse:

Second, I noticed you do not have a chair. I tired to implement this around the first of the year here with no success. I think that is a great idea and a perfect way to outfit an office. What better way to get people out on the floor. Kudos to you and the gang at wherever it is you "play" all day.

Just some thoughts on a slow Friday afternoon.....
