S
Been visiting a while, thought I should go ahead and introduce myself. Thanks for all the great information!
1. Name -
Susan Roche Hendrix
2. Job Title or explanation of what you do -
Good question. My business card says Quality Systems Site Leader but on internal docs its QMS Supervisor. My boss is threatening to change it and I told him the Queen of Quality would work. I then told him it didn't much matter; he could call me Bob as long as he didn't take any of my salary. I am responsible for the Quality System (ISO 9001 and Medical Device QSR Part 820) for our site which includes 7 factories and a distribution system.
3. Industry you're in or have been in – Manufacturing
4. Company you work for and location - South Carolina
5. Length of time in quality function -
19 years. I have worked in QA, Engineering and Manufacturing but I was always involved in improvement activities so I counted all. The only year I didn’t count was when I was a Maintenance Technician. You all know that has nothing to do with quality. Ha Ha
6. Something personal that sets you apart -
I guess what may set me apart is, if I was on the Apprentice this year I would be on the Street Smarts team. I took the hard route. Much of what I know is self taught (and thanks I've learned much from the cove)
7. Your pet peeve in quality -
I guess it’s related to quality ... it drives me absolutely crazy the amount of money spent on training/seminars with absolutely no return to the company or expectation of use. (Looks good on the resume, the food's great and those trips are really fun!)
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? -
Improve everyone's understanding of statistics especially upper level management who are making decisions with no data, wrong data or little understanding of the data.
